Individual Therapy, Psychological, Psychoeducational, & Neuropsychological Evaluations
Welcome. Bienvenido/a/x. Bienvenue.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist based in Delray Beach, Florida and owner/founder of Anima Psychological Services, PLLC. I specialize in providing psychoanalytic psychotherapy for adults and psychological testing for a broad range of psychiatric, academic, developmental, or neurocognitive concerns in individuals ages 6 and up. For example, I routinely evaluate for ADHD, autism, intellectual disability, learning disorders, or issues with memory and executive functioning. I provide services in both English & Spanish.
For those seeking gender affirming medical care, I provide evaluations and readiness letters that comply with WPATH standards of care.
I am also specifically trained in providing psychological evaluations for immigration cases, such as those involving hardship waivers, N-648 forms (medical certification for disability exceptions), VAWA-relief, asylum, etc.
About Me.
I first earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Latin American and Latino Studies from Brandeis University, and later pursued my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling (2015) from the University of Miami. I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (2019) from the same institution. Prior to my current role as owner/founder and clinician in private practice, I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Florida International University Counseling and Psychological Services (FIU-CAPS). After internship, I went on to complete my post-doctoral residency in Clinical Health Psychology with a focus on adult outpatient services at Jackson Health System in Miami, FL.
To date, I have pursued advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with the Florida Psychoanalytic Center and ongoing specialization in providing gender-affirming care via trainings and professional development experiences. My continuing education also includes providing routine psychological evaluations to individuals with complex developmental disabilities, psychiatric concerns, and medical comorbidities. I supplement my clinical practice with regular education and training on specific conditions and populations, such as those with Intellectual Disability, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or individuals with other neurocognitive impairments (e.g., dementias, loss of cognitive functioning following traumatic brain injuries, or deficits resulting from medical diagnoses). I have also completed training in providing psychological evaluations for those seeking asylum or other immigration-related relief with Physicians for Human Rights and The Immigration Evaluation Training Center.
In my clinical work, I draw from my varied experiences across community clinics, college counseling centers, and hospital settings. Through these experiences, I have provided psychotherapy and psychological evaluations to children, adolescents, as well as emerging, middle, and older adults in both English and Spanish.
As a first-generation, multiracial Latina and proud daughter of immigrants, I have a special appreciation for the unique challenges faced by immigrants and individuals who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, or any combination thereof. For this reason, I have sought to specialize in providing mental health care that is affirming and mindful of these lived experiences.
